Notre Dame College Prep private trip to Tanzania, Africa along with heartwarming community service that wraps up with a 1 day safari.

Trip Highlights:
Travel to Tanzania with K2 Adventures Foundation to participate in 5 days of Christian service, experience a one-day safari, hike to a spectacular waterfall, learn how to grow and produce your own coffee, and attend mass celebrated in Swahili. As a participant on this trip, the student will receive 100% of required Christian service hours for their upcoming school year.
Itinerary:
Days 1 and 2 (Friday, June 19 and Saturday, June 20)
These are travel days. Depart Phoenix Sky Harbor airport on DL Flight 1872 at 8:57 am with an arrival into Tanzania at Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO) on KL Flight 569 at 7:55 pm on June 20th. Dinner is included.
Day 3 (Sunday, June 21)
The team will attend a local Catholic Mass celebrated by Father Aristides. Mass is said in Swahili, the native language of Tanzania. The students may choose to participate in the celebration. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner are included.
Day 4 (Monday, June 22)
First day of Christian service at one of the 3 locations K2AF serves. Students will leave the hotel by 9:00 am and arrive back at the hotel around 4:00 pm. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner are included.
Day 5 (Tuesday, June 23)
The morning will be filled with a visit to the coffee plantation followed by a beautiful hike to the Materuni Waterfall. The coffee experience will be like no other, including picking, peeling, grinding, and sipping locally grown coffee. Afterwards, the team will enjoy a breathtaking 40-minute, moderate hike through the local village to the waterfall. Finally, the team will visit a local pizza restaurant for lunch. Breakfast, lunch and dinner are included.
Day 6 (Wednesday, June 24)
Second day of Christian service at one of the 3 locations K2AF serves. Students will leave the hotel by 9:00 am and arrive back at the hotel around 4:00 pm. They will visit a local store called the Blue Zebra where they can purchase authentic trinkets and souvenirs. This store has a non-profit component that gives back to the local community by providing art lessons to underprivileged youth. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner are included.
Day 7 (Thursday, June 25)
The team will go on the one-day safari in Tarangire National Park and visit a Masai Village. Students will leave the hotel by 9:00 am. The drive to the safari gate takes about 3 hours from Moshi. After a picnic lunch in the park, the team will drive to Arusha for dinner and to spend the night. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner are included.
Day 8 (Friday, June 26)
Third day of Christian service at Summit Happy Home. Students will leave the hotel by 9:00 am and arrive back at the hotel around 4:00 pm. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner are included.
Day 9 (Saturday, June 27)
Fourth day of Christian service at Summit Happy Home. Students will leave the hotel by 9:00 am and arrive back at the hotel around 4:00 pm. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner are included.
Day 10 (Sunday, June 28)
The team will attend a local Catholic Mass, followed by a fifth day of Christian service at Summit Happy Home. Students will leave the hotel by 9:00 am and arrive back at the hotel around 2:00 pm to prepare for their evening flight home. The students will depart Tanzania on KL Flight 567 at 9:00 pm. Breakfast and lunch included.
Day 11 (Monday, June 29)
Arrive in Phoenix on DL Flight 1254 at 5:08 pm
$3,295 per person (double occupancy).
A non-refundable deposit of $1,000 per person is required at time of sign up. Full payment is required 75 days prior to departure date.
