Trip Details
The colossal Himalayan mountain range in Asia is home to some of the world’s highest peaks, including Mt. Everest, at 29,029 feet. Himalaya means “home of snow” because the tallest peaks are always capped with snow. Wildlife is diverse here, ranging from tigers, leopards, and the one-horned rhinoceros found in the lower ranges, to the snow leopard and red panda at higher altitudes.
Your K2 Adventure begins in the colorful city of Kathmandu. The historical and cultural heart of Nepal, it is a wonderful mix of Hinduism, Tibetan Buddhism and Western influences. From here, you fly to Lukla, trek through the Khumbu Valley staying at teahouses along the way, and will experience unique mountain scenery, forests, glaciers, monasteries and even a few suspension bridges. You finally arrive in the historic Mt. Everest base camp at the foot of the highest peak in the world.
