Trip Details

Your spectacular 23-day Argentinian adventure begins in the wine country town of Mendoza, Argentina, where you will have a day of heartwarming community service before heading to your hotel to prepare your equipment and gear for base camp. For the next 17 days, you’ll hike four to nine hours each day to a variety of camps on Mt. Aconcagua—Pampa de Leñas, Quebrada de Vacas, Plaza Argentina, and Camp 3 “Colera” among others, experiencing elevations ranging from 8,858 feet (2,699 meters) to the summit of 22,841 feet (6,962 meters).

Day 1 Travel day to Argentina

Day 2: Travel day and welcome to Mendoza, Argentina

Day 3: Purchase climb permits and explore Mendoza

Day 4: Drive from Mendoza to Penitentes

Day 5: Hike from Punta de Vacas trailhead to Pampa de Lenas campsite

Day 6: Hike to Casa de Piedra Campsite

Day 7: Hike to Plaza de Argentina Base Camp

Day 8: Rest day at base camp

Day 9: Hike to Camp 1, return to Plaza de Argentina Base Camp

Day 10: Rest day

Day 11: Move to Camp 1

Day 12: Hike to Camp 2, return to Camp 1

Day 13: Rest day at Camp 1

Day 14: Move to Camp 2

Day 15: Rest day at Camp 2

Day 16: Move to Camp 3, “Colera”

Day 17: First attempt at summit

Day 18: Second attempt at summit (if needed)

Day 19: Third attempt at summit (if needed)

Day 20: Descend to Plaza de Mulas Base Camp

Day 21: Hike to Penitentes and drive to Mendoza

Day 22: Fly out of Mendoza

Day 23: Arrive home

Note: Although we do our best to adhere to the itinerary listed above, it is subject to change due to weather conditions. Four nights of lodging in Mendoza are included. You are responsible for any additional nights if you come off the mountain early.

The weather on Mt. Aconcagua is notorious for high winds and extreme cold temperatures. You must have previous experience with use of crampons and ice axe.

$7,950 Cost Per Person For 17 days trekking and 6 days travel and leisure. Does not include international airfare and tips.

A non-refundable deposit of $1,000 is required at time of sign up. Full payment is required 75 days prior to departure date.

Personal porters for gear carries on mountain (approx. $750)

Tips for hotel staff, bus drives, porters, cooks and guides (approx. $300)

All drinks at meals, except water

Personal gear, including medications

Evacuations, hospitalizations and medication

Visa and exit tax for US citizens (approx. $100)

Single accommodations in hotels and tents. If you are a single registering for one of our trips, we will try to accommodate you as a double with the same gender. However, if we are unable to make these arrangements, you will be responsible for the additional single accommodation fee ($1,000).
