Trip Details

Your spectacular 19-day Argentinian adventure begins in the wine country town of Mendoza, Argentina, where you will have a day to prepare your equipment and gear for base camp. For the next 16 days, you’ll hike four to nine hours each day to a variety of camps on Mt. Aconcagua—Pampa de Leñas, Quebrada de Vacas, Plaza Argentina, and Camp 3 “Colera” among others, experiencing elevations ranging from 8,858 feet (2,699 meters) to the summit of 22,841 feet (6,962 meters).

Trip Highlights

16 days of hiking in pristine wilderness of Aconcagua National Park

22-mile moderate 3-day hike to Plaza de Argentina Base Camp

10 – 12 days of difficult to strenuous trekking on Mt. Aconcagua

20 miles of moderate, non technical hiking down to park exit gate

3 days in itinerary for summit attempt

Note: Although we do our best to adhere to the itinerary provided above, it is subject to change due to weather conditions. Four nights of lodging in Mendoza are included. You are responsible for any additional nights if you come off the mountain early.

The weather on Mt. Aconcagua is notorious for high winds and extreme cold temperatures. You must have previous experience with use of crampons and ice axe.

Refer to the full itinerary for specific details about the trip.
