OUR TEAM

TARYN BORGES

Taryn joined the K2 Team in 2019 and has traveled to and led teams in almost every destination K2 serves, including Peru, Tanzania, Japan and Rim to Rim in the Grand Canyon. An experienced backpacker and avid skier, she can be found exploring the Cascade Range year-round, having achieved numerous alpine ascents throughout Oregon and Washington. She is a certified NOLS Wilderness First Responder, is certified in both CPR and First Aid and is trained in Avalanche Awareness and Rescue. She currently lives in Portland, Oregon with her husband and son.


ADAM “TYLER” BROTZ

Tyler has led teams all over the world for K2 Adventure Travel for many years. His passion for climbing started in 2012 when he summited Mt. Kilimanjaro at age14. He has since gone on to guide tours through the Andes in Peru, across the Grand Canyon and to the summit of Mt. Fuji in Japan as well as added multiple more summits of Kilimanjaro to his climbing resume. He is also an avid big mountain skier having been in the mountains since he was a child.

He is a Nationally Registered EMT as well as a NOLS certified Wilderness EMT. When he is not on the mountain, he works as the program director for K2 Adventures Foundation.


ADAM CHRISTIE

Adam has traveled to more than 40 countries around the world and his passport can prove it. Climbing is a huge passion for the New York native who currently lives in Arizona. Outside of guiding he works as a Financial Advisor for Edward Jones. 

His climbing resume includes many Grand Canyon Rim to Rim trips, Mount Kilimanjaro in Africa, Island Peak in Nepal, Mount Rainier in Washington, Mt Whitney in California and Mount Aconcagua in Argentina just to name a few.  He is a NOLS Wilderness First Responder as well as trained in CPR and First Aid.


MICHELLE FAIN

As a former elite, Division 1 collegiate gymnast, fitness has always been a part of Michelle's life.  She is a Wilderness First Responder, an ACE certified Personal Trainer, a NASM Senior Fitness Specialist, and has a CrossFit Level 2 certification.  She also owns a CrossFit gym in Prescott, AZ and is an avid hiker, both in Arizona and around the world.

Her climbing resume includes many Grand Canyon Rim to Rim trips, Mount Kilimanjaro in Tanzania and Island Peak in Nepal.


JORDYN JURECZKI

After graduating from high school, Jordyn enlisted in the United States Navy, serving for four years as an Operations Specialist aboard the USS Bonhomme Richard in Sasebo, Japan.

Upon returning to the United States, she embarked on her law enforcement career as a patrol officer with a local agency, where she was also selected for the department’s SWAT team.

She now serves as the CEO of the Frontline Healing Foundation, an organization dedicated to subsidizing treatment costs for veterans and first responders dealing with substance use, post-traumatic stress, and traumatic brain injury. In addition, she is a Wilderness First Responder, certified in CPR and First Aid with a hiking resume that includes Rim to Rim in the Grand Canyon and Mt. Kilimanjaro in Tanzania.


CALEB KOLB

Caleb is dedicated to encouraging people through challenges and adventures. He thrives in the great outdoors, enjoying activities like hiking the Appalachian Trail, white water kayaking, rock climbing, and biking the Greater Allegheny Passage. He has conquered Island Peak, Mt. Whitney, Mt. Fuji, the Grand Canyon Rim-to-Rim and summited Mount Kilimanjaro, where he married his wife, Sarah, at Camp Karanga.

A native Pennsylvanian, he runs a nonprofit which helps those in need live quality lives through performance training and adventure. With certifications as a NOLS Wilderness First Responder and in Psychological First Aid, he brings expertise and passion to every adventure.


SARAH KOLB

Since joining the K2 team in 2021, Sarah has brought her passion for adventure and helping others to new heights. Her journey began with a memorable engagement, at the summit of Mount Kilimanjaro, solidifying her commitment to guiding adventures (and her husband, Caleb!). A lifelong athlete and avid traveler, she enjoys hiking, biking, and rock climbing, and helping others reach their summits. She has trekked to Everest Base Camp, Mt. Fuji, the Grand Canyon, and Mount Kilimanjaro multiple times.

Based in Pittsburgh, Sarah is a certified NOLS Wilderness First Responder and holds certification in Psychological First Aid. When she’s not on the trails, she focuses on holistic wellness programs for others, ensuring a well-rounded approach to adventure and resilience.


SHANE ST. JOHN

Shane St. John is an accomplished outdoorsman and retired Green Beret with a passion for tackling some of the world’s most challenging hikes. His impressive adventures include traversing the wild landscapes of Patagonia, hiking the iconic Inca Trail to Machu Picchu, completing the Grand Canyon rim-to-rim hike, and undertaking the spiritual Henro pilgrimage in Japan, a demanding 750-mile trek across 88 temples.

With years of service on a specialized mountain team, Shane is not only a skilled hiker but also a highly trained medical professional. He holds certifications in Tactical Combat Casualty Care (TCCC), is a combat medic, and a Wilderness First Responder. His unique blend of survival expertise, medical knowledge, and love for exploration makes him an exceptional leader for wilderness expeditions.


JOSH UNDERWOOD

Josh is a native of Arizona but has a climbing/trekking resume that includes multiple summits of Mt. Kilimanjaro in Tanzania, Mt Everest Base Camp in Nepal, Mt. Rainier in Washington, Mt. Fuji in Japan, the Andes/Machu Picchu in Peru, & numerous Grand Canyon Rim-to-Rim hikes.  He is a NOLS Wilderness First Responder as well as trained in CPR and First Aid.

When not in the mountains, he has worked in residential real estate for the past 20 years. He lives in Gilbert, AZ with his wife Shelby.


KELLY WESKE

Kelly lives in Wisconsin but loves traveling to Tanzania. She’s been a Certified Group Fitness Trainer for more than 25 years, an Ironman finisher and has completed several marathons. She joined the K2 team in 2013. She has summited Mount Kilimanjaro nineteen times, has guided on Mount Fuji in Japan and has guided several Grand Canyon Rim to Rim hikes.

When she’s not hiking, biking, paddle boarding, kayaking or cross-country skiing, she can be found in her classroom where she teaches Math, Spanish and Health Classes to middle schoolers. She and K2 co-founder Kristen met when they taught middle school and they’ve been friends and have worked together for more than 30 years. She is also an Emergency Medical Responder and a certified CPR and First Aid Instructor.
